NY Tech Meetup is an instution for the city's startup scene, but like any hot ticket in town they sell out fast. Along with finally attattending one of the monthly demo events, attended Hacks/Hackers Visualizing Politics, the French Institute Alliance Francaise open house and the Sept. 12 Mediabistro party. -
Upright Citizens Brigade | Improving to Sketchiness
After taking a break from comedy, I've jumped back in with classes at the Upright Citizens Brigade. In May finished up Improv 301, followed by Improv 401 this summer. Having completed the core improv clases, have gotten back to writing with Sketch 101. -

New York Cares makes it simple to find volunteering events online that fit your interests and schedule. Along with volunteering, attended Mediabistro's TVNewser and TVSpy party, the Amusemi Brunch on July 15, a Diversity in Tech low-key mixer and the Inside Startups' August event. -

New York is the fastest growing tech hub in the U.S. Internet Week showed this off and, like the Australian Aborigine coming-of-age tradition, this included a walkabout.
